Verizon Wireless Funds Next Door’s Mental Health Services
The Verizon Wireless HopeLine® Program has contributed $8,000 to Next Door’s Mental Health Services. Next Door’s Mental Health Services offers walk-in crisis counseling and support groups for over 1,300 victims of domestic violence every year, many of them low-income. Next Door also provides integrated community outreach to over 2,000 individuals annually, creating community awareness of domestic violence, reaching victims in non-threatening locations, building collaborations with other agencies, and providing victims and their children access to services to help them leave abusive homes and rebuild their lives. In addition to providing grants to domestic violence agencies and organizations, Verizon Wireless’ HopeLine® turns used cell phones into support for domestic violence victims and survivors.
