Next Door’s Holiday Boutique
Next Door’s Holiday Boutique is a yearly event held in the month of December! Each year, Next Door initiates toy drives for gifts that will catch the attention of moms and their children who will soon be receiving a special holiday treat. During the boutique, Next Door clients and their children will be accompanied by a volunteer into one of two rooms. The children will enter a room filled with donated gifts and pick out something special for their moms. At the same time, their mothers will be led to separate rooms filled with donated toys and presents for their children. After they pick out gifts for each other, they will gift-wrap them (separately of course, so the gifts remain a secret) and then anxiously await their inevitable exchange.
Next Door’s Annual Holiday Boutique makes the holidays so special for those who have so little. Closer to December, we will begin accepting gift donations that are unwrapped and brand new.
For Infants & Children: Clothing items such as jackets, sweat pants, sweatshirts, socks, craft supplies, books, dolls, teddy bears, sports equipment, violence free toys, books and board games.
For Teens: Clothing items, basketballs, footballs, baseballs, bath and body accessories, violence-free books, music, and electronic games.
For Moms: Kitchen & Bath Towels, sheets, blankets, beauty products, personal care pampering items, handbags, and jewelry.
Other Requests: Gift bags, wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, scissors, tape, gift tags.
Additionally, volunteers are needed for boutique set-up and morning, afternoon, and evening shifts to assist with shopping, decorating, organizing, and wrap gifts, and post-event breakdown and clean-up. If you wish to volunteer, please send an email to hbvolunteers@nextdoor.org, and we’ll put you on the list!
