Support Groups

mother face away 2 daughtersNext Door’s Support Groups build resilience and self esteem, minimizing damaging long-term effects that prevent people from living healthy, productive lives. Support Groups recognize the strengths of each participant and cultivate in clients the means to recognize and develop their strengths. Support Groups cover a variety of topics and run between 10-16 weeks with an option to continue after that. Currently Next Door facilitates the following Support Groups:

  • 2 English Support Groups at the Community Office
  • 2 Spanish Support Groups at the Community Office
  • A South Asian Support Group at the Community Office
  • A Men’s Support Group at the Community Office
  • A Support Group at Sacred Heart Community Services
  • The Los Gatos Support Groups
  • The Elmwood County Correctional Support Group
  • The San Jose Quilting Support Group
  • The MAVEN Support Group for victims over 50

Support Groups:

  • Reduce domestic violence recidivism
  • Reduce the risk of children perpetuating the cycle of domestic violence
  • Develop client self-esteem and emotional resiliency
  • Cultivate their parenting, coping, and communication skills
