Celebrate the Holidays with Next Door Solutions!

Help make the holidays a little brighter for the women and children we serve by donating to our annual holiday party and gift giving.

This year, due to logistical constraints, we have had to reformat our annual Holiday Boutique, but we still want to help our clients have a celebration for the holidays. We especially are in need of donations of gift cards in $25 increments. By donating today, you contribute to a “gift of giving” for the clients we serve. Each $25 you donate is a family served. Help us reach a goal of serving 1,000 women and children this holiday season! Your support will help us greatly ensure that our clients have a festive holiday.

For this year’s holiday celebration, we are looking for donations of the following:

All these items will be distributed to our clients during our Holiday Open House on December 19. We will have games, activities, and sweets and treats for all the children and their mothers. Donations should be delivered by December 15.

Volunteers

Even though the format of this event has changed, we will still be in need of volunteers. To prepare for the Holiday Open House for our clients on December 19, volunteers are needed to help sort and organize donations on December 17 &18. We will also need volunteers to help provide snacks and treats for the event. These items can be delivered to our Community Office on December 17.

And of course, our biggest need will be for volunteers on the day of the event. There will be a variety of activities for you to choose from, whether it is helping with games and activities for children, helping distribute gifts, or providing warm holiday cheer – you make a big difference for our clients! If you are interested in volunteering for the Holiday Open House for our clients, please register here.

For further information about this event, contact Bernadette White at bwhite@nextdoor.org or 408-501-7571.

Thank you for making happy holiday memories for our women and children!

SockTober Celebration for Next Door Solutions!

Thank you to everyone at Merryhill Elementary School for their tremendous donation of socks and pajamas for our women and children! A special thank you to Thea Kim who was inspired by a Kid President video to start the “SockTober” drive at her school! These donations come at a perfect time, just as the weather is starting to get cold and are very much needed. The students even made some lovely notes to go with the socks! Thank you to everyone at Merryhill Elementary and to Thea Kim!
